Check Out: Bean Snowboards

Starting a new snowboard brand in today’s oversaturated market is no easy task.  It takes countless hours of hard work, travel and sacrafice, and it takes little bit of luck.  These are facts that Collin Murray, Mike McGraw, Brian Callan and Scott Petrichko, the team behind Bean Snowboards, know all too well.  Since 2006 Bean has been turning out snowboards “Made in Boston” from their 400 square foot garage and travelling the northeast promoting, selling and generally stoking the kids out on their brand.

Bean is a local company with a distinctively Boston feel.  They currently offer two board models available through their website, which offers free shipping.  The jib oriented Violator is described as a True Twin with a soft buttery, but poppy feel.  The more all mountain Commonwealth is a Direction Twin with strategic carbon reinforcement for added pop and edge grip.  Each board is assembled by hand in Bean’s Boston factory and the Bean factory only turns out about 80 boards a year.
