BURLINGTON, VT and STRATTON, VT (December 17, 2007) Burton Snowboards and Stratton Mountain Resort today announced the global debut of the Burton Kids Parkway. This colorful, kid-friendly snowboard park is designed to be an interactive and fun facility for small shredders to learn park-riding basics. Scheduled to open on December 22, the Burton Kids Parkway is in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary of the Stratton Mountain Snowboard School.

The Burton Kids Parkway will feature small, creatively designed jibs with colorful graphics and jumps providing little shredders with the opportunity to learn the ropes of freestyle snowboarding with safety and style. “Stop and Drop Zones” strategically placed before each feature and an interactive stop sign at the top of each feature line will require the kids to read about the upcoming obstacle line before pushing a button to receive the green light to drop in. Additional park postings with “trick tips” and Smart Style (a cooperative effort to continue the proper use and progression of terrain parks at mountain resorts) messaging will showcase a picture of the feature, all designed to educate and elevate freestyle snowboarding. The on-snow park will also have an interactive park component available at http://www.kidsparkway.com that will allow young rippers to check out the terrain and to ride interactively before dropping in on the snow.
